Orange Stop Motion
For this project I worked with Lexi. We sliced the orange and disassembled it and then reversed frames at the end to create the effect that the orange was coming back together. I was pleased with the outcome. Also I made the credits and added music (Aston Martin Music Instrumental - Rick Ross)
Prom Safety in sand
In this stop motion I worked with Lauren. We printed off the background of the ocean and then poured sand over it. Then we used the character to spell out prom in the sand. We struggled to have the video not appear choppy but overall were pleased with the outcome. I had fun working with Lauren on this sand project.
Workout Video - in stop motion
I enjoyed this project a lot. First I set up the gym scene and printed off hardwood floor to create the look as well. We were asked to have a figure enter in and disapper from the video, so I used the barbel to create this. I used 7.5 FPS in Stop Motion Pro. In order to have the figure stand he had to have bulky legs and large feet. I would improve the fluidity of his motions if I were to do this project again.
Reflection
Over the course of my senior year I have learned a lot in advanced graphics. Having taken graphics 1 my sophomore year it took a while to become used to working on graphic design again. We started out the year slow with projects from the book, where we would follow step-by-step directions to adobe illustrator lessons. In addition to this I created several flyers, one for a pancake breakfast and two for Mrs. Nassif. Also we went on a field trip to Thayer Street in Providence. Term 2 we did more book work and spent some time on a celebrity portrait and then an animal. I picked Kanye West and a dolphin. These were time consuming projects but I was pleased with the result. Term 3 we started off with a Lichdenstein portrait of ourselves. I learned a lot during this project about the use of thick and thin lines and also benday dots. The next project was a poster for a safe driving campaign. Looking back I am not pleased with the project but I ran out of time due to absenses. Then came the fun projects, stop motion videos. Unfortunately due to technical issues the files for my first two projects were corrupted and I am unable to upload them to my weebly site. These were my first experiments with stop motion videos. Term 4 is the shortest term but I further experimetned with stop motion videos. In addition to the video I learned to add titles and credits, and upload my videos to youtube. My experience in both graphics and advanced graphics have been enjoyable and I feel as if I benefited greatly from taking these courses. Mr. Adams and Mrs. Shmeigal have been very helpful in assisting me through this journey. In my future at Bridgewater State University I will utilize the problem solving skills I was taught in graphics. The ability to start from scratch and pride myself in a finished product is something I will use often in the business world. Working with others is also something I practiced in graphics which will help me in every day life. While my major may not be in graphic design, the innovation and collaboration practiced in this course are something that can be used in every aspect of my future career and life.
